Q: What gas should I use for cutting carbon steel? A: Thin (1–2 mm): nitrogen or air — higher speed, slight dross possible. Medium and thick (3+ mm): oxygen — cleaner edge, stable cut. At 12–20 kW, nitrogen/air is effective up to 10–20 mm.

Q: How to choose nozzle diameter? A: Thin metal (1–3 mm): 1.5–2.0 mm (single S). Medium (4–10 mm): 2.5–4.0 mm. Thick (12+ mm): 4.0–7.0 mm. For high-speed oxygen cutting — double-layer nozzles (E, SP). For thick stainless steel on nitrogen — wide nozzles (B) 5.0–8.0 mm.
